Common Questions about our Services

How does a website audit work?

A website audit is a broad term that depends on who you’re working with. When you work with us, we will perform a thorough review of all the components used to build your website and what solutions and improvements could be implemented. We look at everything from the technical specifications like what framework was used to build the website, how fast the website is, the overall design, and if it matches the business’s goals. By looking at every aspect of the website we can determine any changes needed to be made to improve the experience which will ultimately lead to more conversions.

What is UI?

UI stands for User Interface and is used to describe the design of a website or application. It is the look and feel; it pertains to the visual elements. Every website and brand has their own unique UI when it comes to buttons, text, images, sliders, forms, and all the other items users interact with. Great UI must be in lock step with the client’s branding.

What is UX?

UX is short for User Experience or the interaction between the website and users. The experience has to be a pleasant one otherwise users will exit the site and go elsewhere. Like with UI, there are elements that impact the overall experience such as navigation and information architecture. A well thought out UX will lead to more impactful customer experiences that help reach your business’s goals.

Where can I see examples of websites you've designed?

We update our portfolio on a regular basis with recent projects which you can view on our case studies page.

What are the differences between web design and web development?

Both terms are very similar, but they differ in key areas. In the case of web design, the focus is the look and feel of the website. The visuals and elements must be aligned with the branding in order to help create a memorable user experience.

For web development, the focus is the actual coding of the website to build up the structure of the website. Part of web development is also adding integrations and functionality in order to improve workflows for our clients. Ask us how we can help with integrations to your website.

What CMS do you work with?

We have worked with a variety of Content Management Systems, CMS, over the years. The most common ones we work with are:

  • WordPress
  • Shopify
  • Magento

If you have any questions about a CMS not on our list, feel free to ask us about it.

How much input do I have in the process?

It’s your website, therefore you get to provide a lot of input. It is critical to our process that we get feedback and input in order to ensure your website truly matches your vision. We have a very thorough process that will make sure we cover all bases and answer any questions you might have.

How much does a website cost?

Website costs depend on the project scope. Basic informational websites start at $1,500, with pricing increasing based on page count, custom functionality, and e-commerce features. We provide detailed quotes after understanding your specific goals, so there are no surprises.

How long does it take to build a website?

Most websites take 2-4 weeks from kickoff to launch. Simple brochure sites land on the shorter end, while e-commerce or custom-functionality projects take longer. Timeline also depends on how quickly you provide content, feedback, and approvals. We establish clear milestones at the start so you know what to expect.

Will my website work on mobile devices?

Yes. Every website we build is responsive, meaning it automatically adjusts to look and function properly on phones, tablets, and desktops. We test across multiple devices and screen sizes before launch.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Absolutely. Many clients come to us with outdated sites that need a refresh. We can work with your current content and structure or start fresh depending on what makes sense for your goals.

Do you offer website maintenance?

Yes. We offer monthly maintenance plans that include WordPress updates, security monitoring, plugin updates, backups, and minor content changes. This keeps your site secure and running smoothly without you having to manage the technical details.

Do you provide hosting?

We offer managed hosting, this includes SSL certificates, daily backups, and performance optimization. You can also use your own hosting provider if you prefer—we'll work with whatever setup makes sense for your situation.

Can you help with SEO after my site launches?

Yes. We offer ongoing SEO services including content creation, technical optimization, local SEO, and link building. Many clients start with a website project and continue with monthly SEO to build their organic traffic over time.

What if I need changes after my website goes live?

Post-launch edits are handled in a few ways. Small updates are often included in maintenance plans. Larger changes like new pages or features are quoted separately. If you're comfortable making your own edits, we train you on the CMS so you can update text and images yourself.

Do you work with clients outside San Diego?

Yes. While we're based in San Diego and work with many local businesses, we serve clients throughout California and across the country. Meetings happen over video call, and our process works the same regardless of location.
